How we handle your information

Last updated: July 2026

You've found your way here, which probably means you want to understand how your information is handled before you share it. That's a reasonable thing to want to know.

Here's what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

When you book a session

When you claim a slot on therapydan.co.uk you give us your name, email address and phone number. We use those details to confirm your session and send you what you need before we meet. They are not shared with third parties.

When we work together

Once we begin working together the counselling agreement covers how your information is handled in that context — what's confidential, when and why that might change, how session notes are kept, and how your details are stored. If you haven't seen it yet you'll receive it before your first session.

The practical detail

therapydan.co.uk is hosted by Krystal, a UK-based hosting provider. Online sessions are conducted via Zoom — Zoom's own privacy policy applies to data processed during video calls. We hold a paid Zoom account with a Data Processing Agreement in place. Daniel Esparraguera is registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZC139714, trading as Therapy Dan.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to restrict how it's used, and to object to its use. To exercise any of these rights email daniel@therapydan.co.uk. If you have a concern that can't be resolved directly you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
