The curiosity you first heard, coming forward then retreating for a while, then coming again and a little more often, said, why not look for help, talk to someone?
Bless your friends, they listened and looked concerned. You had a GP conversation too, but stopped short of mum and dad. No need to worry them, not now anyway.
There have been hours of reading posts, lists of things to ask for and look at, local therapy spaces offering to match you, and plenty of options every time you search, something flagging a platform or a service at the top of your page.
They don't help themselves, so many profiles that look and sound the same. How am I meant to pick one? All that without even looking at a fee, or when they work. Whether I'd get them at all. Whether they'd get me?
What's right about this is, right now you can hear the other voice. The one that says, this isn't safe, it's too difficult, why bother, you can't change.
Yet that curious sound keeps coming up, a little different from before, asking you not to ignore being careful but helping you with a choice.
Simply saying, there's one to pick here.
It might just arrive with a sense of relief because there's no instruction, no danger, no right or wrong, just the reality of starting, a way of being more you, of being able.
The curated listings, their photographs, become a short list, that becomes two or three phone calls and in turn an appointment.
Not without concern, not without doubt, but with a sense that this could be safe.
This could work.
You can carry the day.
